The last time I posted, I was working at the Sheriff’s
office and not teaching school. Because
I was not teaching, I made my Action Report at Brazosport College. Now, there
have been some big changes in my work. I
am teaching graphic design, animation, digital interactive media, web
technologies, advanced animation, and advanced graphic design at the high
school. I took off working on my Lamar master program for six months so I could
focus on the new job, and learn all the new Adobe software programs: Flash,
Illustrator, Photoshop, and Dreamweaver.
Now that I am back, I am trying to work out how to continue working on
my Action Research and Internship plan. I am not sure how to continue from
here. It would be so much more useful to me to complete my Internship and Action
Research at my new school, but I do not know if it would be better to just
continue completing my work at Brazosport. These last five weeks I have not
worked on either project. I have had my hands full just completing my
assignments and continuing working on learning the software I need to teach
everyday. My plan is to review my Action Research and evaluate how much I have
actually completed. If a large portion is complete, I will finish it off at
Brazosport. My thought is the Internship plan is almost complete and I will
work to complete it at Brazosport. The Action Research is not nearly complete,
and I may just restart it at Angleton High School, if that is acceptable to
everyone.
Tonight’s conference was a little shorter for me than the last. It may be because I was so distracted by the web cam not working. It was on, but it would not come up in the class. I understand it may be because of I need flash, but it has always worked before. Because I kept messing with flash and the camera, I am afraid I missed some of the discussion. I was even kicked out of the conference once and had to log back on and wait to get it in. I guess all these things are kinks in a technology that will be ironed out as time goes on, and there are always growing pains as there is progress. The conference was kind of an overview of what should already be done and what to look forward to in the future. I did not have any real questions, but enjoyed hearing Dr. Abernathy assure us that she was there to help us if we needed her. I believe this has been my favorite class so far. It has not been high stress and it is something I w...
